Weather caused us to reverse our trip and travel to Texas first instead of going to Salt Lake City.  Weather again changed our plan on the return to Whitewood.  We left Calipatria, CA Thursday planning a leisurely trip to Salt Lake to arrive Saturday, attend the live broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Sunday, then head for Whitewood.  Thursday night we were at Callville Bay on the shores of Lake Mead near Las Vegas, and Friday night we stayed at Minersville County Park NW of Cedar City, Utah.  We checked the weather forecast Friday evening and found significant snow would be arriving over the Rocky Mountains Sunday, so we cancelled Salt Lake and headed for home to arrive ahead of the storm.  Our young lawnmower boys had kept the driveway clean, and we were able to get the camper up to the house to unload.  We put the camper in our shed and were home.  The snow started Sunday night and lasted thru Monday dropping about 6-7 inches of heavy wet snow and over a foot in Gillette, WY.

Our two month 2018 trip took us thru Colorado, Oklahoma,Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Wyoming, and we logged about 7500 miles.  We recorded about 200 different species of birds.  This was our 24th year of camper travel which has taken us every state west of the Mississippi River, all of the gulf coast states, plus several other Eastern states.  This may have been our last winter camper trip.  Time will tell.  It has been quite an experience with lots of great memories.
