2022 Summary
Christmas 2021 was bird counts and Christmas dinner with Bob/Janice. We hooked up the camper on January 16 for a month in NM, AZ, and CA. We birded our favorite spots, visited with my college roommate, traveled to the Salton Sea and stayed at the Fountain of Youth resort to shed a few years. March 5 was the 100th birthday of our long time friend Bud Shaykett so we returned to SD on 2/19. March-April-May were spent in SD and doing the West River Migration bird count. Vic went to Alaska in June to meet Jeff and work at the cabin. A major hailstorm hit the northern Black Hills in June, but our house had very little damage. Vic was in Alaska on July 5th for his sister Phyllis’ 90th birthday then returned to SD. July and early August were in SD and Vic played with the Cowboy Band at the county fair in Nisland and Days of 76 parades in Deadwood. Late August took us to Duluth MN for the wedding of Adam Lozeau and Kendra. September took Vic back to Alaska for moose hunting with Jeff who successfully got a moose that dressed 795 pounds. October took us on a driving trip to Incline Village, NV for a family reunion with Carol and grandchildren Samantha and Parker. Vic travels twice weekly for New Horizon rehearsals in Rapid City. November was medical appointments for both of us and a hernia repair for Vic. December will be in Whitewood with a family dinner, playing concerts with New Horizon, a late December visit from the Lozeau’s, and doing Christmas Bird Counts.
