We closed out 2022 with Vic playing concerts with New

Horizons Band, we participated in Christmas Bird counts along

with lots of December snowstorms.  We hooked up the camper on January 19th and headed for Texas where we visited the Big Bend area, the Rio Grande Valley and the Hill Country before returning home on March 7th.  Spring was in SD and our WW II friend Bud Shaykett passed away on 4/26 at the age of 101.  We participated in the West River Migration Count in May and Vic installed a watering system for a family friend.  June took Vic/Jeff to Alaska to get Piper going, open the cabin, clear trails, and other cabin maintenance.   Son Jeff and family drove to South Dakota for the 4th of July celebration and we had three generations (Vic-Jeff-Megan) playing in the Belle Fourche Cowboy Band.  All of Donna’s kids, grandkids, and greats were here also over the 4th. Vic also played with the Cowboy Band for Days of 76 parade and with the Northern Hills Band for their noon concert in Deadwood.  August brought the noisy Sturgis Motorcycle rally with Vic/Donna escaping for a week to Pinedale, Wyoming.

Son Jeff is building a new hangar at Big Lake, AK and we sold our Palmer hangar in September and moved Piper to Big Lake.  Daughter Carol is now back in Alaska and went with Vic to the cabin to work mowing trails and runway, and closing the cabin.  October brought an early snow storm to Whitewood followed by beautiful weather the rest of the month and most of November/December.  Steve and Colleen drove from Wisconsin and joined us for Thanksgiving.  We plan December at home participating in Christmas Bird Counts and other events including Capitol Christmas in Pierre.  We have joined the Spearfish Senior Center Choir and will be rehearsing and making appearances with them over the holidays.  We have made reservations at Sierra Vista and Rio Rico Arizona for most of February.  Vic will be traveling to Alaska for cabin maintenance again next summer.

Steve/Colleen are at LaValle, WI, Janice/Bob Oss live near Belle Fourche and help us when needed, Sandra/Jeff Bordin are in Cosmopolis WA.  Jeff Bordin has finished his work in Washington D.C. and is back in Washington State.  Carol is now in Anchorage, AK and is married to Greg Walker who works for the state of Alaska. Their address is 10630 Republic Circle, Anchorage, AK 99502.  Jeff/Jodi and family are still in Georgetown, IN near Louisville.
