After getting vaccinated and almost a year of pandemic isolation, we flew from Rapid City to Louisville, KY to visit son Jeff/Jodi and family who moved from Alaska to Georgetown, IN just west of Louisville. The week’s visit was split between visiting, helping with the remodeling of their home, and seeing local attractions including Churchill Downs (home of the Kentucky Derby), Frazier Museum, Charlestown State Park, and the Peerless Distillery. We learned that Kentucky has exclusive rights for distilling bourbon in the United States. Peerless is a high end distiller and a fifty of bourbon was $124. Churchill Downs tour was excellent. Racing does not begin until April so were able to view betting areas, stadium, and race track. Here are some of the photos from our trip.
